Fab Lab Limerick started in 2012 when we began to build our own 3D printers, CNC Routers and laser cutters as part of the elective programme at the School of Architecture, University of Limerick.

We are a community of people passionate about digital fabrication technologies and their potential in creative projects. You are welcome to join us!

Laser Cutter

Trotec Speedy 400 Laser Cutter

A high-quality laser engraver and cutter - it is a fully-featured, fast and easy-to-use machine that can engrave and cut a huge range of materials. The Speedy 400 has a 80 watt CO2 laser and a bed size of 100cm x 61cm. More info


An open-source laser cutter designed to fill the need of makers, artists and scientists who wanted a safe and highly capable machine. Our lasersaur has a 100 watt carbon dioxide laser and a bed size of 61cm × 122cm. More info

3D Printer

RepRapPro Mendel

Open-souce 3D printer that can print most of its own components. RepRap uses an additive manufacturing technique called Fused Filament Fabrication to lay down material in layers. The build envelope is 20cm x 20cm x 14cm with layer accuracy of 0.3mm. More info

CNC Router

Shopbot PRSalpha

Full size CNC Router that delivers full-production performance in digital fabrication of wood, plastic, aluminum, and other materials. It offers transit speeds of 1800 inches per minute and cutting speeds of up to 600 inches per minute. Cutting volume of 244cm x 152cm x 15cm. More info

Blackfoot 4x8

A self-replicating full size CNC Router made out of plywood with a cutting volume of 244cm x 122cm x 8cm. More info
