Complimenting the development of 3D digital ceramic printing at Fab Lab Limerick, Owen Quinlan, Lecturer in Ceramics at Limerick School of Art & Design will present an overview of Ceramics as a functional and expressive medium, focusing on the technical and process related characteristics of this common but complex material. The presentation will explore the wide range of approaches to the discipline and its diverse range of applications from the historical to the present day.
Included in this event is the opportunity for participants to take part in a tour of the LSAD Ceramics Department where staff will introduce the array of equipment, materials and processes involved in ceramic practice. he tour will take place on Wednesday 29th.
An invite is also extended to attend the annual Irish Contemporary Ceramics Collection lecture series taking place in LSAD on Wednesday November 29th, as well as a day of process workshops with acclaimed Irish ceramists Christy Keeney and Anne Butler in the LSAD Ceramics department on Tuesday 28th of November.
